The paper presents different variants of the onset and course of the primary biliary cirrhosis- autoimmune hepatitis overlap syndrome and discusses the problems encountered in the diagnosis and treatment of these liver injury forms characterized by a steady progression and unresponsiveness to performed immunosuppressive therapy.
