PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TASK OF REGIONAL HEALTHCARE MODERNIZATION PROGRAMS

Objective. To evaluate the eff iciency of prenatal diagnosis of congenital fetal abnormalities from off icial statistical data. Materials and methods. The data available in the state statistical report forms №. 13 and №. 32 dated 2009 and 2010, respectively, were analyzed. Results. The authors give data on the scope of the prenatal diagnosis made in 2009—2010, including that of identified fetal malformations and miscarriages occurring from congenital fetal developmental abnormalities. Conclusion. The statistical data show that the population of women who are on the medical book is not completely covered by prenatal screening, even though positive changes are clearly seen; congenital fetal malformations are prenatally detected in 35% of the live-born babies with developmental abnormalities in Russia as a whole.
