Источники импортов восточного происхождения в святилище Геры на Самосе

Аннотация

Святилище Геры на острове Самос выделяется среди прочих большим количеством вотивных приношений восточного происхождения, обнаруженных там во время раскопок. На основании анализа литературных, эпиграфических и археологических источников в данной статье делается предположение о путях проникновения восточных импортов в святилище. В качестве возможных вариантов приводятся торговля, обмен ремесленными технологиями, служба греческих наемников на восточных территориях и грабительские набеги. Паломничество иностранцев и миграция ремесленников с Востока в случае Самоса представляются менее вероятными и не находят прямого подтверждения в источниках.
