Р 300 IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT AT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

Abstract


With the aim of early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis there were studied neurophysiological peculiarities of cognitive disorders. Clinical- neurophysiological examination of patients with recurrent multiple sclerosis revealed mild disability according to the EDSS scale. The number of patients with an average degree of gravity prevailed in secondary progressive MS, with an increase in 3 times, and with a heavy degree of 5.5 times. Neurophysiological study revealed that at different types of the disease course the reduction of the cortical response and longer latency (PL) period of cognitive wave P300 occur. Decrease in the amplitude of the response wave P 300 indicates reduced activation of neurons involved in the processing of the signal in consequence of the processes of demyelination.
