FEATURES AND DYNAMICS OF LATERAL ORGANIZATION OF BRAIN IN PARKINSON’S DISEASE PATIENTS

Bykanova M.A., Pizova N.V.

Abstract

There was established an individual profile of functional interhemispheric asymmetry (IPFA) and determined its dynamics in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Investigation showed that right and predominantly right individual IPFA were more frequent in patients with Parkinson’s disease. With accumulation of left-sided asymmetry there was noticed a decrease of non-motor function. In the dynamics this asymmetry changes due to motor function in patients with a predominance of symptoms of PD on the side with the dominant limb.

Babin K.A., Vinogradov D.B., Izarovsky B.V.

Abstract

In patients with delirium tremens complicated by polyneuropathy there were studied the content of biogenic monoamines in blood and urine, activity of platelet monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B), tribulin activity of urine and the level of free radical oxidation. It was found that the magnitude of the imbalance between the content of biogenic amines in the blood and their level of excretion, as well as oxidative stress at delirium tremens depends on polyneuropathy.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF VEGETATIVE HOMEOSTASIS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONICAL CEREBRAL ISCHEMIA

Nalbat А.V., Jakupov E.Z.

Abstract

With the aim of evaluating special features of vegetative homeostasis in patients with chronical cerebral ischemia there was performed an analysis of heart rate variability. For the first time there was offered algorithm of heart rate variability, which allows evaluating comprehensively state of vegetative nervous system at different structural-hierarchic levels. The level of vegetative dysfunction was determined, as well as compensation mechanisms in patients with chronical cerebral ischemia. There was confirmed the hypothesis of bilateral pathogenetic connection of the revealed vegetative disorders and chronical cerebral ischemia Кey words: vegetative homeostasis, chronical cerebral ischemia, heart rate variability.

PROBLEMS OF ADHERENCE DURING INPATIENT TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH OPIOID ADDICTION

Gorodnova M.Y.

Abstract

Addiction Profile - MAP indicators in 183 patients with opioid addiction in narcological hospital were measured. After three weeks the indicators have changed. Risky health behavior, criminal activities have reduced. Also there was a reduction of interaction intensity with the family, but quality was improved. Lack of the family support might contribute to a patient’s addressing for drug treatment. Patients stayed in the hospital for 4 weeks because of poor health. But poor health was not a factor for choosing the kind of rehabilitation. Duration of treatment, and not the number of previous hospitalizations was a factor of duration of the present hospitalization. «Addiction profile» was not useful to assess the effectiveness of the treatment for patients with short-term hospitalization due to the lack of dynamics in the first 14 days.

HARM REDUCTION FOR ALCOHOL PROBLEMS: EXPANDING TREATMENT OPTIONS. Part 2

Zobin M.L.

Abstract

Harm reduction strategy does not see complete abstinence as the only goal of treatment. Unreadiness for immediate rejection of alcohol consumption should not be a barrier to helping to reduce the negative effects of alcohol abuse, especially in cases where the standard treatments do not produce the expected results. Such an approach is consistent with the behavioral patterns of dependence and provides more treatment options, which would otherwise not be used.
