Ivanova M.S., Vasenova V.Y., Butov Y.S., Akhtyamov S.N., Volchenkov I.G.

Abstract

Actinic keratosis (AK) is the most frequent precancer dermatosis. Its pathogenesis is associated with lasting repeated intense UV exposure of the skin. Treatment of keratosis foci is an effective cancer prevention method. The most up-to-date method for the treatment of this dermatosis is photodynamic therapy (PDT). Thirty patients with AK were treated by PDT with applications of 5-aminolevulinic acid (alasense) and photoexposure using a Biospek therapeutic pulse lamp. High efficiency of the method was confirmed histologically and by acoustic examination of the skin.

Romashkina A.S., Snarskaya E.S., Alekberzade A.V.

Abstract

The epidemiology and clinical morphology of a rare skin disease - cat scratch disease (phelinosis) are described, based on a review of 16 publications, and a clinical case observation is presented. A female patient aged 72 years developed phelinosis 2 weeks after scratches were inflicted by a stray kitten. A papule appeared on the right forearm at the site of scratches, which was followed by enlargement of the lymph node in the right armpit. Examinations of the patient revealed changes in the right mammary gland, which had to be differentiated from cancer. Antibodies (IgM) to Bartonella henselae and Borrelia burgdorferi in high titer (1:512) were detected by enzyme immunoassay. Erythromycin therapy led to regression of the process.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SERUM AUTOANTIBODIES IN PATIENTS WITH VITILIGO

Lomonosov K.M., Simonova N.I., Lomonosov M.K.

Abstract

The clinical significance of natural autologous antibodies (autoAB) to body organs and systems was evaluated in vitiligo patients. The results indicated high (up to 30%) incidence of vitiligo association with changes in the nervous system and with other diseases, including those at the preclinical stages of disease development. Detection of changes in the serum levels of many autoAB can be significant for predicting the development of vitiligo and for planning the optimal treatment strategy.
