The sociological research technologies as a systematic basis of medical sociological monitoring

Abstract

During the last decades, significant alterations in the national studies of medical sociological issues occurred. The medical sociological studies are especially important for physician-practitioner since the understanding of one's own role and patient's social role facilitates to increase the number of errors in forecasting of operations succession. The practical application of the results of medical sociological monitoring permits to mark out the most acceptable forms of reorganization in the system of mandatory medical insurance and to receive legitimate support of citizen of the activities targeting the social services system reform. The effectiveness of monitoring in public health increases at the expense of the development of permanent system of sociological information collection and the organization of data bank on particular curative preventive institutions, administrative districts, cities and regions. The development of high-end information technologies permits to provide a more comprehensive analysis of medical sociological information in different profiles applying more sophisticated mathematical tools and to ensure its long-term storage for subsequent application with fast data search.

Abstract

The article considers the issues of interaction between medical knowledge and models of religious interpretations of health, diseases, their causes and treatment approaches. Based on the study of religious texts and in-depth interviews, the comparative analysis was implemented to study Muslim and Orthodoxical conceptions in relation to esthetical medicine, psychology and psychiatry, gynecology and reproductive health, genetics, physical culture, nutrition, non-traditional medicine. The religious point of view about possible degree of medical intervention into human life is revealed.

The physician personality and physician's characteristics: the gender aspect

Abstract

The article deals with the results of studying the physician's characteristics in medical workers in different areas of medical activities mediated through gender differences. It is demonstrated that the estimating indicator of physician's emotional characteristics associated with the empathy is higher in female physicians-to-be than in male physicians-to-be. In the criterion of female physician the empathizing complex of personal traits prevails more often. In the criterion of male physician prevails the emotional neutral complex of personal traits. The criterion of personal characteristics of female physicians-to-be looks more humanistic. The criterion of personal characteristics of male physicians-to-be is more volitional. Many patients consider the gender of physician as a factor facilitating the communicative contact. The female physicians are capable to identify more exactly the emotional conditio0ns of patients. The indicators of social psychological observance are higher in female physicians as compared with male physicians.

Abstract

The questionnaire technique was applied to the respondents aged from 19 to 35 years to investigate the indicators of social development of the interaction between physician and patient related to healthy life-style in municipal hospital №19 of Novosibirsk. The survey form included the main blocks of questions about social ideas, interpretations and behaviors of physician and patient related to healthy life-style. The research data permitted to formulate a conclusion that the resolution of problem of social development of interaction between physician and patient in the area of healthy life-style depends on social ideas, interpretations and impact of physician's behavior on patient's behavior.

The health-preserving technologies in the system of university education: The sociological analysis

Abstract

The major targets of the study were 1) analysis of characteristics and functions of innovative systems ("health-preserving technologies") as applied to develop students' health; 2) sociological analysis of health of Russia's youth. On the basis of solid empirical data, the overall pattern of deteriorating health of students youth is presented. The system of health targeted technologies applied in the management of Russian university education is analyzed. The health-preserving technologies are clustered in two groups: 1) technologies and innovations using psychological and educational methods; 2) physical exercise and health recreation methods. On the basis of data analysis the corresponding conclusions and recommendations are provided.

The article deals with the results of the custom longitudinal descriptive random sampling study of the social economic characteristics of 2077 patients in ambulatory polyclinic and hospital establishments of Arkhangelskaya Vologodskaya oblast and Republic of Komi in February-April 2007. The comprehensive type of the dependency of incomes of provincial consumers of medical services is established. In the group of consumers of medical services with the income lower than living wage dominate persons of 60 years and older? With lower education level, non-working and dwelling in rural locality.

The population need in prophylactic knowledge

Abstract

The article deals with the results of study of Sverdlovskaya oblast population needs in prophylactic knowledge. The questionnaire poll was organized and applied to the patients of able-bodied age who visited polyclinics and general practitioner offices with any purpose. The population need in prophylactic knowledge is considered through such particular indicators as factual and preferable sources of prophylactic knowledge; format of information related to health promotion; content of received knowledge. The data analysis revealed that the main source of information related to prophylactics is the medical personnel. The need in additional knowledge about health is expressed by 62% of respondents. The most preferable form of prophylactic information to be received is the medical personnel counseling. The respondents indicated the priority information to be applied to alter the life-style and to ameliorate health as follows: smoking giving up, stress management, rational diet and physical activity. The data on relationship between these indicators and gender, age and education are presented.

The study results testify the meaning of educational and explanatory activities among juvenile delinquents for the purpose of adaptation this group of children to the full-fledged life in society.
