Abstract

The theory of cardialgia that emerged at the dawn of human civilization, passed several stages of evolution in its thousand-year history and has undergone significant changes in the modern understanding of the origin of this clinical symptom frequently encountered in modern clinical practice. The different causes that lead to pain in the chest, modern methods of diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
