Abstract
The article presents data on the epidemiology of onychomycosis and duration of these diseases; the social aspects of this problem are considered. The effects of terbinafine and its generic Exifine on the fungal cells are discussed. The high efficacy and safety of terbinafine in the treatment of fungal infections are shown. Significant superiority of terbinafine over itraconazole in the treatment of onychomycosis is demonstrated.
