Abstract
The article presents the indications and contraindications for antibiotic therapy in lower respiratory tract infections. Recommendations for the appointment of certain groups of antibiotics in these diseases in children are provided. In severe pneumonia with a high risk of poor outcome, inhibitor-protected amoxicillin in combination with aminoglycosides or 3 rd or 4th generation cephalosporins - ceftriaxone, cefotaxime, cefepime - as monotherapy or in combination with aminoglycosides, depending on the severity of the disease, and carbapenems (imipenem and meropеnem) are the drugs of choice.
