Abstract
The article presents the results of SNP- analysis of 6 cytokines aimed to evaluation of their association with the development of aggressive periodontitis (AP), severe inflammatory and destructive process, damaging the periodontal tissues. The study involved 171 patients aged 18 to 45 years without severe somatic diseases. There were 48 patients with a diagnosis of AP and 123 healthy individuals without any complaints and apparent clinical manifestations of inflammatory periodontal diseases. Development of test systems for SNP (single nucleotide polymorphisms) mapping was based on the principle «adjacent probes». The results of the study and analysis of published data suggest that the gene encoding the leptin receptor LEPR in the rs1137101 site can indirectly affect an individual's susceptibility to parodontopathogenes, provoking the development of the AP, by analogy with the development of amebiasis caused by E. histolytica.
