Abstract
The article presents the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and methods of pharmacological treatment of osteoarthrosis (OA). Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) occupy a special place among pharmacological treatments of OA due to their high anti-inflammatory activity, pronounced analgesic effect and good tolerability. Nimesulide, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, is one of the most popular and widely used NSAIDs in clinical practice.
