Аннотация
В статье изложены данные, касающиеся свойств и эффектов метформина - сахароснижающего препарата первой линии в лечении сахарного диабета 2 типа. До сих пор применение метформина ограничивалось развитием побочных эффектов со стороны желудочно-кишечного тракта и большой кратностью приема необходимой дозы препарата, однако с появлением пролонгированной формы метформина Глюкофажа Лонг можно надеяться на решение этой проблемы.
