Patient with osteoporosis visiting a therapist: what to begin with and what to pay attention to?

Abstract

Osteoporosis (OP) is a progressive systemic skeletal disease characterized by a decrease in weight and a disturbance in the microarchitecture of bone tissue, leading to increased bone fragility and an increased risk of fractures. OP is a multifactorial disease. Algorithms for diagnosing various variants of primary and secondary OP are presented. It is emphasized that at the present time in the arsenal of the doctor there are many tools for the timely detection of patients with OP at the early stages and prevention of the development of its complications - fractures - using pharmacological preparations.
