Abstract

Rational use of one of the physical methods of examination - examination of oral cavity - in general medical practice can be effective not only in identifying dental pathology, but also pathology of internal organs. The article describes changes in the lips, oral mucosa and dental system that accompany diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system, hematopoietic and endocrine systems, kidneys, rheumatic diseases and can be detected by examination. An adequate and, as early as possible, assessment of such manifestations will allow you to correctly build the diagnostic route of the patient, timely identify and treat the underlying disease, as well as save the patient from complex and expensive dental procedures.
