Routing of tool movements during sheet cutting on CNC machines. Part 1
Abstract
Questions connected with cutting optimization under precedence conditions and constraints connected with efficient heat dissipation are studied. Arising routing problem immerses himself in the general formulation of the problem of sequential bypass of megacities with precedence conditions and cost functions with possible dependency on task list. The device of broadly understood dynamic programming (DP) is used for solution; in the case of the problem of tangible dimension the decomposition method is used also. In the latter case, optimal composition solutions that can be constructed in an acceptable time are our goal. The applied DP variant uses precedence conditions and cost functions with dependency on task list (this dependency arises in connection with thermal restrictions and especially important for thermal cutting). The algorithm based on DP is implemented on a multi-core PC. The results of solution of model examples are given. The article includes a review of the authors' previous works.

State-of-the-art of technical solutions used for manufacturing the “cathode” part
Abstract
This paper presents an overview of technical solutions aimed at increasing the cold cathode manufacturing technology efficiency using pressure treatment methods. The paper considers the operational requirements imposed on the cathode, determining its efficiency due to the choice of material; as well as the technological requirements determining the features of metal pressure treatment methods application. An analysis of plastic deformation process flow charts is performed and little-studied issues are highlighted. In conclusion, the paper formulates promising research areas.

Study of machining blanks of medical implants from a new high-strength ultrafine-grained titanium alloy Grade 4
Abstract
The effect of machining modes on the surface roughness of titanium Grade 4 rods with ultrafine-grained and coarse-grained structures and subsequent intensity of implant osseointegration in the postoperative period was examined. It was shown that increasing the cutting speed during the manufacture of medical implants leads to surface roughness reduction of titanium Grade 4 rods with an ultrafine-grained structure compared to the coarse-grained counterpart. Testing of medical implants manufactured using a new mechanical processing technology showed a significant increase in their strength and accelerated osseointegration after maxillofacial surgery.

Properties of boronized layers and their machining
Abstract
The results of studies are presented, showing a close relationship between the boronized layers ductility and their phase composition, structure, chipping stresses, and compressive stress levels, which are determined by the saturation methods used and boron concentration on the treated surface. At the same time, recommendations have been developed for selecting tool materials when performing finishing operations on boronized parts: turning (milling), grinding, and lapping. Good machinability of boronized parts indicates their maintainability, for example, boronized bodies of freight car automatic couplers.

Designing disk milling cutter with indexable inserts for machining complex shaped parts
Abstract
The paper presents the design of a disk milling cutter with indexable inserts used for machining the shaped surfaces of wheelsets. A theoretical analysis of the machined surface microgeometry was performed, establishing the relationships between feed rate, number of teeth, cutting edge geometry and the residual height for turn-milling (angles in the plan, radius at the IIs vertex). A mathematical model has been developed for dependence of kinematic clearance angles during up- and down-milling on the design parameters of the milling cutter and machining conditions. A mathematical model has also been developed for dependence of the cross-sectional dimensions of the undeformed chip on the machining conditions during turn-milling.

The influence of the lead error of thread milling heads on thread layout and its component in the structure of the standard tolerance of the nominal diameter
Abstract
The measure of influence of key technological factors on the accuracy of the mean diameter when cutting threads with screw-cutting heads with round combs has been considered. The relationship between the tolerances on the forming elements of the cutting part of the threaded tool profile and the thread pitch has been established. The portion of the functional standard tolerance for the mean diameter attributable to thread pitch variation caused by uneven angular spacing of the combs has been determined; the need to standardize the maximum allowed error of the pitch in technical specifications has been justified, which makes it possible to create a certain reserve of accuracy (performance), assessed by a technological indicator, through the expansion of the operational component of the standard tolerance.
