Abstract
the problem of long-term consequences of acute poisoning with neurotoxicants is relevant in industrial hygiene and toxicology, as it affects not only biomedical issues, but also socio-legal aspects. This problem has been and is being given great importance both in Russia and abroad. The authors devoted the main attention in their research to the acute period of intoxication. However, in recent years, scientific research has been actively conducted to study the neurotoxic effect of toxicants in the long-term period of intoxication, as well as the search for effective therapies for these disorders. It can be assumed that the long-term consequences of acute severe poisoning with neurotoxicants are explained by the disruption of various adaptation mechanisms and the launch of a cascade of pathological reactions. Existing studies of the mechanisms of formation of long-term consequences of poisoning with neurotoxic substances do not provide a definitive answer about the pathogenesis of emerging disorders.
One of the approaches to understanding the complex mechanisms of the development of pathological processes in the body is experimental modeling. Without the creation of biomodels, practical medicine will never make progress and will not be scientifically sound. The review examines the experience of modeling the long-term effects of intoxication in case of poisoning with neurotoxicants.
