Abstract
The most significant tasks confronting specialists in clinical thyroidology of the North-western Russia at present and how to solve these problems.
Elimination of iodine deficiency and preventing the goiters among the population of the region. Iodized salt is the standard way of overcoming the problem of iodine deficiency disease. The law has to be passed that makes illegal to sell salt without iodizing it.
It is very difficult to use modern diagnostic equipment for residents of the remote rural places. To solve the problem of application modern diagnostic methods of the thyroid diseases in these settlements it is necessary to use mobile diagnostic plants and organize diagnostic laboratories there.
Providing of the rational complex treatment of the patients may be realized by means of organizing of the joint endocrine clinics where endocrine surgeons and endocrine physicians work together.
The problem, that demands urgent decision is organizing of the department for radioactive iodine treatment of the thyroid patients in North-western Russia
