The specifics of nursing care in a high-tech ophthalmology clinic: Moscow experience in working with visually impaired patients

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze the specifics of the professional activities of nurses in a modern ophthalmological clinic equipped with the latest technologies and focused on a patient-centered approach to medical care.Materials and methods: study of the work experience of the Moscow branch of the 3Z federal network of ophthalmological centers for the period 2018-2024, analysis of statistical data on more than 50,000 patients, analysis of the specifics of working with high-tech equipment, including VisuMax 800 femtosecond lasers for SMILE pro technology.
Results: the key competencies of nurses have been identified when working with patients of all age groups (from 3 months to 102 years) suffering from various visual pathologies. The features of psychological support for patients with partial or complete vision loss, the specifics of working in a multidisciplinary team of a high-tech ophthalmological center are revealed.
Conclusions: a nurse in a modern ophthalmological clinic act as a key link between the patient and the high-tech treatment process, providing not only technical support for procedures, but also psycho-emotional support for patients at critical moments of vision restoration.
