The article is devoted to the scientific school of the outstanding domestic topographic anatomist, scientist and teacher, head of the department of operative surgery with topographic anatomy of the Military Medical Academy in 1912–1948, doctor of medical sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, lieutenant general of the medical service Viktor Nikolaevich Shevkunenko (1872–1952), the contribution of his students and followers to the development of military traumatology and orthopedics.
