Abstract

Ethics is a branch of philosophy that describes morality. Medical ethics in geriatrics are not that different from the general one. It operates with an ethical principles of biomedicine, which includes autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficense, justice and fidelity. In aged population chronic pain syndromes and cognitive decline are developing much more frequent. That is leading to the serious desadaptation. This situation calls to the medical professionals to implement these principles and to be efficient in the improvement of the quality of life of the patients and their relatives.
