Abstract

The paper considers the issues of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of famciclovir in the treatment of herpesvirus infections. Investigations have demonstrated the high efficacy of famciclovir, especially in the treatment of manifestations of herpesvirus infections, accompanied by neurological symptoms, such as pain. It also describes the efficacy of short-cycle famciclovir, which increases patient adherence to treatment and allows the latter to be initiated as soon as possible at the first symptoms of recurrence.
