Abstract

During a year, a group of patients on peritoneal dialysis was found to have a significant reduction in lean body mass and an increase in fatty body mass (p<0,05). In a group of patients on hemodialysis, impaired nutritional status manifested itself as a decrease in the somatic protein pool (p>0,05) and a rise in fat mass (p<0,05). Comparative analysis revealed a good agreement between bioimpedance data and clinical, laboratory, and anthropometric findings.
