Abstract

Proton pump inhibitors (PPI), or H +, K +-ATPase inhibitors, are the most commonly prescribed class of drugs to treat acid-dependent diseases. The paper unveils the mechanisms of action of PPI and considers the pharmacokinetic properties of drugs from this group and novel specific adverse reactions.
