CURRENT PROTON PUMP INHIBITORS IN THE THERAPY OF GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE

Abstract

The increase of the prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) determines the importance of its timely diagnosis and adequate treatment. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are basic agents for the therapy of GERD. The paper describes the pharmacokinetic benefits of the latest-generation PPIs, monoisomers, and their role in the therapy of GERD.
