Successful medical management tactics for patients with lumbosacral radiculopathy are based on the exact identification of the radicular pattern of pain and on the assessment of pathophysiological components involved in the development of pain. The current views on the pathogenesis of radicular pain and the principles of targeted therapy are discussed.
