Abstract

The paper describes clinical cases of bile duct diseases (including cholangiocarcinoma) resulting from chronic pancreatobiliary diseases. Probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (PCLE) was first used to diagnose this pathology, which could specify and verify the diagnosis. The authors conjecture that PCLE can be of critical importance in the diagnosis of pancreatobiliary diseases if other techniques are ineffective or low informative.
