Abstract

The introduction of the hyaluronic acid is still considered as a qualitative breakthrough in the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis (OA). In order to obtain primary information to assess the market potential of hyaluronan in Russia in 20 centers in 18 cities conducted in-depth interviews with medical professionals as well as patients with OA. The data reveal a large potential market hyaluronic acid in Russia, which manifests itself as a high level of training, and a good response in patients with OA treatment. Proven efficacy and safety· as well as the diversity of the positive ef-fect is the basis for the widespread use of these drugs in OA for intraarticular injection as Suplazin and Suplazin 1-SHOT (Вioniche teoranta Co., Ireland).
