HIV INFECTION: USE OF HIV GENOTYPING AND PHYLOGENETIC METHODS DURING AN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION
Abstract
HIV genotyping and phylogenetic methods were used in the epidemiological investigation of a case of HIV infection in a child in the Lipetsk Region. The risk of HIV infection in the child receiving healthcare was ruled out with a high degree of probability; the virus was concluded to have been transmitted from an HIV-infected mother to her child. It is expedient to use the capabilities of the phylogenetic assay to investigate HIV infection cases that are likely to be associated with healthcare.

ROLE OF NEUROHUMORAL ACTIVATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF HYPERTENSION IN CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE
Abstract
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is presently considered as a disease of the airways and lung with systemic manifestations. The latter include cardiovascular events, particularly hypertension that may be caused by hypoxemia, systemic inflammation, systemic oxidative stress, and neurohumoral activation.

CAUSES OF POOR OUTCOMES IN PATIENTS WITH NON-ST-SEGMENT ELEVATION ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROME CONCURRENT WITH MULTIFOCAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS
Abstract
This study enrolled 149 patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS), who were ascertained to have a high incidence of multifocal atherosclerosis. The poor predictors were found to include increased cardiac-ankle vascular index and statin therapy discontinuation after NSTE-ACS. The women are more frequently discharged from hospital with a diagnosis of unstable angina pectoris and have no atherosclerotic lesion in the coronary and peripheral arteries while the men more commonly develop non-Q-wave myocardial infarction and have multifocal injury in the vascular bed.

LOCAL NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS IN THE TREATMENT OF TONSILLOPHARYNGITIS
Abstract
Sore throat caused by tonsillopharyngitis in the vast majority of cases is a very frequent reason people visit their doctor. Symptomatic therapy aimed mainly at relieving pain plays a large role in the treatment of tonsillopharyngitis. The local nonsteroidal ant-inflammatory drug flurbiprofen has the high efficacy and safety established in evidence-based clinical trials.

HYALURONAN: PROPERTIES AND BIOLOGICAL ROLE
Abstract
Most cosmetologically used injectable drugs include agents based on the carbohydrate biopolymer hyaluronan. The latter is involved in the formation of the extracellular matrix that is of great importance for many cellular physiological functions (regulatory signal transmission, maintenance of cell shape, adhesion, differentiation, migration, and growth).

INTRAPERITONEAL CHEMOTHERAPY IN THE COMBINED TREATMENT OF DISSEMINATED GASTRIC STOMACH
Abstract
The capabilities of intraperitoneal chemotherapy have recently attracted increasing attention. The use of subcutaneous port systems for intraperitoneal administration of chemicals is effective both in combination therapy for gastric malignancies and as a palliative treatment method for patients with unresectable gastric cancer. The authors describe their own experience with fully implantable subcutaneous peritoneal Port-A-Cath systems for combined chemotherapy of disseminated gastric cancer. The installation and operating maintenance of the system are detailed; possible complications during its operation and methods for their prevention are given; and long-term treatment results are assessed.

VESTIBULAR DIZZINESS IN A PATIENT WITH CERVICALGIA
Abstract
Hyperdiagnosis of cerebrovascular disease in our country leads to inadequate therapy for the causes of dizziness. The most common cause of vestibular dizziness is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo treated by effective methods. Combination treatment for pain syndromes should be performed. Baclosan and Mesipol have been shown to be highly effective in treating vertebrogenic cervicalgia.

HYALURONIC ACID IN THE TREATMENT OF OSTEOARTHRITIS
Abstract
The introduction of the hyaluronic acid is still considered as a qualitative breakthrough in the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis (OA). In order to obtain primary information to assess the market potential of hyaluronan in Russia in 20 centers in 18 cities conducted in-depth interviews with medical professionals as well as patients with OA. The data reveal a large potential market hyaluronic acid in Russia, which manifests itself as a high level of training, and a good response in patients with OA treatment. Proven efficacy and safety· as well as the diversity of the positive ef-fect is the basis for the widespread use of these drugs in OA for intraarticular injection as Suplazin and Suplazin 1-SHOT (Вioniche teoranta Co., Ireland).

THERAPY COMBINES HERPES AND MYCOPLASMA INFECTION IN WOMEN
Abstract
Clinical and immunological study of 70 women of reproductive age by herpes (HSV-2) infection and microplasma lower reproductive tract. For solution of tasks used a modern complex of clinical and laboratory methods, including the exploration of clinical, immunological, microbiological status of the genital tract of women. Genferon® drug use in complex therapy combined genital herpes and mycoplasma infection contributes to the normalization of the clinical picture, reducing the number of relapses, increase interrecurrent period, elimination of congenital dysfunction and adaptive immunity, identified in patients before treatment.

ROLE OF MICROASPIRATION OF GASTRIC CONTENTS IN THE ETIOPATHOGENESIS AND PATHOMORPHISM OF BRONCHOPULMONARY DYSPLASIA
Abstract
A total of 373 neonatal infants on mechanical ventilation were examined. Microaspiration of gastric contents was established from the pepsin isolated from a tracheobronchial aspirate (TBA). In the children with microaspiration, the incidence and severity of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in all degrees of gestational maturity were found to be higher and to increase in proportion to enhanced TBA pepsin activity and a shorter gestational period. In this patient category, a classic form of BPD prevailed in preterm infants, BPD was significantly more common than in the comparison group, and a follow-up study revealed a statistically significant number of cases of chronic bronchopulmonary disease developed by 3 years of life.

DECOMPENSATION OF HYPERTENSION: WAYS OF PROBLEM SOLUTION
Abstract
Seventy-seven emergency care physicians and 33 medical interns were anonymously questioned. The respondents were established to be equally aware of risk factors for decompensation of hypertension. Those asked in both groups do not consider physicians and tolerance to treatment to play a significant role in loss of blood pressure control.
