Abstract

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic continuously recurrent skin disease with early onset. Nowadays the pathogenesis of many local inflammatory processes is studied rather well and diagnostic and treatment techniques are thoroughly worked out. However, in a number of cases the disease still progresses: the periods of short remission are followed by flare-ups. Why do we sometimes fail to induce long-lasing remission? What causes severe AD? We have tried to answer these and some other questions by analyzing recommended and applied treatment methods and employing Russian and foreign professional publications. We have proved that anti-relapse therapy supported with the usage of cosmetics gives assurance in AD effective treatment.
