Abstract
Worldwide, more than half of pregnant women have anemia. The latter causes functional disorders in various organs and systems, worsens quality of life, diminishes working capacity, and increases a risk for complications during labor. The absence of timely and adequate therapy may induce iron deficiency in the fetus too.
