Abstract

A set of laboratory parameters (white blood cell and platelet counts, activated partial thromboplastin time, and bilirubin, lactate dehydrogenase, and lactate concentrations) determined in the first 7 days of stay in intensive care unit children allows outcome prediction in cancers (a sensitivity of 87% (78 to 93%) and a specificity of 90% (82 to 95%)).
