Abstract

Intra-abdominal hypertension and intra-abdominal hypertension syndrome are often concurrent with acute pancreatitis, sepsis, and intestinal obstruction, leading to increased mortality in patients. Just the same, intra-abdominal pressure is monitored regularly only in critical situations rather than on a permanent basis. Monitoring intra-abdominal pressure in the postoperative period is needed to prevent complications and to reduce mortality rates.
