Abstract

The theory of gastroenterological clusters has become one of the new concepts of the metabolic syndrome. The study of the relationship between the metabolic syndrome and some gastrointestinal diseases allows the latter to be considered as diagnostic criteria; however, it is impossible to use the information available in practical medicine, without having a clear understanding of all aspects of the formation of this correlation, which leaves the task unsolved.
