It has been found that the platelet coagulation hemostatic changes occurring at the onset of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1) are steady-state and unrelated to disease duration and their associated alterations in carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolic parameters are determined by the duration of DM1.
