Justification. The protection and maintenance of Russia's national interests is provided for by Presidential Decree No. 645 of October 26, 2020 "On the Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation and ensuring National Security for the period up to 2035". Negative temperatures are a characteristic feature of the polar regions. The latter negatively affect the process of changing phase states, prevent the homogenization of the working fluid and the successful start of the engine. In order to ensure such a start-up, thermal preparation is provided. The existing methods of thermal preparation of engines of ground-based equipment are not justified by high energy consumption and labor intensity. The achievements of modern science offer new technologies in solving the issues of thermal preparation based on the accumulation, storage and sale of thermal energy generated by the engine in the process of application. The purpose of the work is a holistic presentation of new solutions in the field of thermal engine preparation, solutions, for example
