MENTAL HEALTH IN THE 21ST CENTURY. GENDER FEATURES OF POSTMODERN CULTURE

Abstract

There have been analyzed peculiarities of postmodern society with revealing the most important factors, presenting increased demands to psychosocial adaptation. The flow of changes, constantly and rapidly appearing in the different spheres of life, leads to growth of pschic disorders of non-psychotic level and significantly changes state of the population mental health. Women in postmodern society are in the zone of the increased risk, what is connected with their bigger relation to the system of perceptions and evaluations, characteristic for the traditional culture. There were described causes of the most frequent in the postmodern society forms of psychotic disorders in women.
