Abstract
On May 19, 2021, after a one-year break, a meeting of the Iranian seminar Freiman Readings was held, bearing the name of the outstanding Iranian philologist, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology Alexander Arnoldovich Freiman (1879-1968). The seminar was attended by employees of the Eastern Faculty of St. Petersburg University (SPbSU), the State Hermitage (GE), the National Research University Higher School of Economics (NRU HSE) and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IOM RAS), who shared with the gathered results of their latest scientific research. The speeches of the seminar participants were devoted to a wide range of problems associated with Iranian studies, namely, with the study of modern Iranian and Central Iranian languages, textual criticism and the history of oriental studies.
