Abstract

This paper is devoted to the application of inter-organizational information systems in the electronic procurement. Electronic procurement is defined as a comprehensive process in which organizations use IT systems to establish agreements for the acquisition of products or services (contracting) or purchase products or services in exchange for payment (purchasing). We develop a classification grid of industrial buying situations and then explicitly link likely El-business application to the various situations.
