Abstract

The paper presents the problem of treatment of hypertension according to patient clinical characteristics and risk factors for cardiovascular complications. Given to endothelial dysfunction in patients with arterial hypertension, drugs of choice currently are angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors with significant antihypertensive and organoprotective action. By the way to achieve the target level of blood pressure, combinations of antihypertensive agents is often used, in which different classes of drugs are used to increase the additivity of action and reduce the severity of side effects.
