Abstract

The article provides information on the problem of viral hepatitis in the Russian Federation: statistical data for the epidemiology, mortality, and prognosis are presented. The economic parameters of the treatment and prevention of hepatitis B, economic disbenefit caused by viral hepatitis and its complications are analyzed. The modern features of antiviral therapy are considered.
