Abstract
The article is dedicated to the different aspects of psychogenic erectile dysfunction (ED) and its pathogenetic mechanisms. Psychogenic sexual dysfunctions, which include the ED, are the result of system interaction of a number of adverse factors: situational, stressful, partnership issues and features of personal response. As a rule, several of the above reasons play the role in the development of psychogenic erectile dysfunction in men. Treatment of psychogenic erectile dysfunction includes psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy. The main group of drugs used for erectile dysfunction is phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors; parent drug is sildenafil (Viagra).
