The review of literature on the basis of evidence-based medicine has considered safety of dipeptidyl-peptidase-4 inhibitors in patients with renal and liver disorders, as well as their influence on the parameters that determine the cardiovascular risk. The analysis of the effectiveness and safety of DPP-4 inhibitors in combination with insulin therapy taking into account with effect on body weight, induction of hypoglycaemia and glucose-lowering efficacy was performed.
