Abstract

The process of orthodontic treatment is often associated with a number of unpleasant effects such as injury to oral mucosa by elements of orthodontic appliances. In this connection, there is a risk of inflammatory diseases. Given the features of the early stages of orthodontic treatment, it is necessary to prescribe drugs both to arrest the pain and eliminate inflammation. The optimal variants of this drug include gel, which has anesthetic and anti-inflammatory actions. The article describes the experience of use of the Kamistad® gel in patients with fixed orthodontic appliances. It was concluded that drug is not build up a tolerance in long-term application, so it can be recommended for the long-term use throughout the course of orthodontic treatment.
