The results of a comprehensive survey of 27 patients with chronic alcoholic intoxication are presented. The problems of diagnosis, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of alcoholic polyneuropathy as the most frequent manifestation of alcoholism are discussed. The efficacy of treatment of alcohol neuropathy using α-lipoic acid is evaluated.
