Abstract
The article presents information on the etiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis (AR). According to the new version of ARIA (2008), the compliance to the principles of sequential therapy and individual approach, pathogenesis, complexity and the prevention of disease in the treatment of patients with AR is required. Strategy of combined background therapy, taking into account the characteristics of AR and comorbid diseases in individual patient, is optimal for patients with AR.
