Abstract

The article presents the data on the possibility of use of non-invasive cerebral oxymeter for the assessment of changes of cerebral oxygenation, ejection fraction, and stroke output relative to age norms in children with dilated cardiomyopathy. The study revealed a direct correlation of cerebral oxygenation with changes of functional cardiac parameters - ejection fraction and stroke output. Reduction of cerebral oxygenation against the background of normal stroke output and a slight decrease of ejection fraction indicates the developing cerebral hypoxia, even with relative stability of the functional parameters of the cardiovascular system. Decrease of cerebral oxygenation requires adequate and timely correction of hypoxic conditions.
