Abstract

The article describes the types of neuropathic pain. Spontaneous and evoked positive sensory symptoms associated with neuropathic pain discriminated. The stages necessary for the diagnosis of neuropathic syndrome are presented. The principles of treatment of neuropathic pain according to international recommendations are considered. It is emphasized that selection of treatment should be determined by the leading pathophysiological processes specific to pain. It is noted that bee venom-containing drugs suppress the occurrence of mechanical and cold allodynia and are effective for all types of pain involving inflammation.
