Abstract

The article describes the results of the retrospective application of in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection in 31 female patients with a body mass index> 25 kg/m2 (38 stimulation cycles) compared to a control group of 20 patients with normal body weight. Indications for the use of assisted reproductive technology included tubal-peritoneal infertility due to obstruction or lack of uterine tubes or male infertility. The features of superovulation stimulation and clinical outcomes were accessed, as well as the frequency of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, depending on the presence of obesity, type of fat deposits, the presence of the metabolic syndrome and polycystic ovary syndrome.
