This review focuses on antibiotic prophylaxis in surgery. Particular attention is paid to the features of antibiotic prophylaxis during surgical interventions in stomatology. The principles of modern antibiotic prophylaxis, its objectives and risk factors for microbial complications are discussed in detail. Roxithromycin (Esparoxy) is a modern drug that meets all safety requirements and requirements for spectrum of action.
